Okay Grump, I can handle a 'BOO' anytime, it's those 'ass-kickings' I've rec'd over the years that wound my pride...Strange you should mention the BOHUNKS as I always associated my oft told Polish jokes with that term...Used to tell Polish jokes all the time...kinda like my trademark...So proud was I of the fact my father had come from Germany....later down the road my kid sister wanted to do some geneology and she went to that area of Germany where our fathers roots were...Seems she discovered a lot of shirt-tail relatives with the surnames ending in SKI.....Well, I just surmised the fact was evident and I've mended my ways....Chiefski

My proud as a peacock aunt was to the bone proud of her 100% pure blood Polish stock. Then one day while we were roofing her fathers house and he was on his second six pack he told her that her maternal grandmother was a Krause and his own mother was Austrian/Polish. It was the first time in my life that I or anybody else didn't hear her loud overpowering voice the rest of the day. It was also the last day she ever told an ethnic joke. That would have been about 1958, she is still loud but still subdued when it comes to nationalities and ethnic groups.

What really made her upset was her brothers and sisters knew but didn't care and the reason nobody told her was they didn't want to be the object of her wrath. After 7 or 8 Pabst Blue Ribbons her dad didn't care. It was great.
