COLT D.A. CAL 41 [ PATENT DATES ARE SEPT 9 1871/SEPT 15 1874/JAN 19 1875] SER # 1983 ON THE GRIP BOTTOM HAS BLK GRIPS WITH THE HORSE
THIS PISTOL BELONGED TO MY GRANDFATHER. HE WAS THE COLT, REMINGTOM ARMS SERVICE AGENT IN SMITH COUNTY TEXAS HIS ADDRESS WAS IN tYLER TEXAS. MY FATHER WAS BORN IN 1910. I WOULD LIKE SOME INFO ON A TRUSTED GUN SMITH IN THE HOUSTON TEXAS AREA. THE GUN DOES NOT STAY COCKED SO IT NEEDS REPAIR BUT NOT TO DEVALUE THE PEICE. ALSO ANY IDEA OF WORTH

Once you get some pictures I am certain someone will be able to tell the value. In the meantime check out this site. I don't know whether they do repairs, but they are in your neighborhood and could direct you to someone local to look at fixing your revolver.
