What I'm talking about is sort of a ranking system where if someone likes your post they give you a thumbs up.

I know what you're meaning, Cpt. Where underneath the post it says something like "114 users liked this post" or "13 people disliked this post." I've seen those a time or two.
To be honest, I never felt like they helped the community. Everywhere I've seen, it does more to cause fights than anything else.
