Given my trust of government (particularly should the Hildebeast prevail) is marginal at best, what might be some options for (legally) purchasing a sidearm without it being documented? If it matters, I'm a resident of Georgia.
Thank you.

I am not up to date on Ga's laws but unless their is a regestration there Any privately purchased firearms would technically be undocumented. However with buying a firearm privately their is always the risk it is stolen. And if your in possesion of it, Their can be hell to pay.

I've bought many guns from private sale.
It is very easy to just call the local police and ask to verify the serial # is clean...in several states they've been okay with doing that and so far I've never had a problem.

I can say that Washington State only keeps the list of stolen firearms on file for 12 months and they submit a letter to the individual from whom the weapon was stolen wanting to know if the weapon has been returned. Should you not respond within the required amount of time the item is dropped from the stolen files. Like the thief is going to have a case of remorse, yea right. catfish

What Southern Shooter said is true. In Ga a private sale is undocumented. If however, you call the serial number in and it is stolen then the firearm will be consficated.

An honest seller won't care if ya call it in before purchase.
