Default Powder for semi's

Getting ready to load some shells for a semi auto, looking at the manuals they all seem to use a bolt action to test.
Is there anywhere that test what powders are better for semi autos?
Will be loading 30 06 and 308.

What kind of semi-autos are you loading for? Some are powder specific.

will be shooting 30 06 bar's and the 308 is a RRA AR 10.
Heard may want to use a little faster burning powder, but cant find anything in any of the manuals I have. Just wondering if anyone had luck with one over the other just to give me a starting point.

I load a 168 grain bullet using Varget or Winchester 748 in both my M1 Garand (30.06), M1A, and L1A1 (both 308) (all semi-auto).

The BAR will handle all the powders associated with the 30-06. It is not a Garand type action and will not be damaged when loading slow for cartridge powders as in the Garand. Same for the AR-10.

Whatever gives you the best accuracy is the one to use.

I use AA2520 the "Camp Perry Powder" and love it. A ball powder and performance is excellent in the 308.

Ask the manufacturer.
I tend to go with the faster powders, but I don't load for max velocity.
