Default S&W Model 29

Would like to know the current approximate value.

S&W Model 29-5. Made in the early 90's. Has a couple of small dings on the grip but they're not deep ones. No scratches or blemishes anywhere except for that pesky ring around the cylinder. No fading of blued finish that I can tell. Revolver is in excellent shape and has fired less than 100 rounds.

I am considering replacing the grip with a nice rosewood finger groove model. Would this increase the value?

Thanks
Grizzly

In a word no. Most of the older Smith grips are ser # to gun.
It's ok to change them out to shoot just keep the orig.
I have added target grips to most of my Smiths keeping the factory grips.
Yours is probably a Classic Value Exc. around $550
