Default mauser

a neighbors husband died and she is selling two of his rifles. She stated the mauser has been in the family a while. it reads Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 serial C1551

and an SKS 7.62x39 made in china by norinco serial C21900502. synthetic stock

any insight on a fair price these should be sold for would be great. both are in good shape

Hi Tripod.....welcome to TFF.

According to the Standard Catalog of Military Firearms, the Chilean Mauser Model 1895 Short Rifle is worth:

Exc. - $225
V.G. - $190
Good - $150
Fair - $90

The market has recently been flooded with SKS's which has lowered the prices. Assuming this is a later one and not a genuine Pre-ban, it would probably be worth the $150 range.
