Ironic isn't it that the only time one seems to have the right to control over their own body is when they are ending a human life

This will start a war.
And it should!

It might be hard to enforce on a nation wide basis when 10@ of a vaccines are going to be shipped aboard.
President Announces Plan to Expand Fight Against Global H1N1 Pandemic THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary ___________________________________________________________________________ For Immediate Release September 17, 2009 President Announces Plan to Expand Fight Against Global H1N1 Pandemic Today, President Obama announced the United States will continue to act aggressively to stop the global spread of the pandemic 2009-H1N1 influenza virus and is prepared to make 10 percent of its H1N1 vaccine supply available to other countries through the World Health Organization (WHO). In recognition that diseases know no borders and that the health of the American people is inseparable from the health of people around the world, the United States is taking this action in concert with Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The United States will make the H1N1 vaccine available to the WHO on a rolling basis as vaccine supplies become available, in order to assist countries that will not otherwise have direct access to the vaccine. This week, the Food and Drug Administration officially licensed the 2009-H1N1 influenza vaccine. Last week, the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health announced that one dose of the vaccine – instead of two doses – will be effective in developing immunity in most adults, and HHS Secretary Sebelius announced the vaccine would be available in the coming weeks, earlier than originally anticipated. We remain confident that the United States will have sufficient doses of the vaccine to ensure that every American who wants a vaccine is able to receive one. We continue to recommend that early priority at home and abroad should be given to pregnant women, health care workers, individuals caring for infants less than 6 months of age, and other high-risk populations. There is broad international recognition that the 2009-H1N1 pandemic presents a global health risk. Millions of people around the world have been affected, thousands have died and the virus continues to spread across international borders. The United States recognizes that just as this challenge transcends borders, so must our response. We invite other nations to join in this urgent global health effort. Working together, we can ensure that this vaccine limits the spread of the disease, reduces the burden on health care systems, reduces the risk of an even more virulent strain emerging and, most importantly, saves lives—in the United States and around the world. http://www.globalsecurity.org/securi...itehouse01.htm

Carter Did it Too. Guess what for?
Swine Flu! Over 4000 lawsuits from the reactions to the vaccines. I believe something like 49 million vaccinated. Not a bad days work if you are Pfizer, huh? Wonder if they give money to politicians? Don't look for any real protest to this. Sheep can get noisy, but are easily herded.

Just got a paper home from my kid's school. They want consent to give a "Free FluMist Vaccine" which is not a shot...it's a nasal spray squirt.
Yeah...no thank you. |

The Air Force forced my daughter to have that last year. She got sick as a dog then ended up with pneumonia. Unlike the flu shot which I take with no problem, the inhaled mist is actually live flu virus. Makes a lotta sense huh?

Back in the early 70's when I was in the Air Force, they tried to make us all get the swine flu shot. I heard the shot killed a few people. I didn't get it then and have never had a flu shot since.

H1N1 death rates are lower than for "regular" flu, and the dirty little secret was published last year in the mainstream medical journal Archives of Internal Medicine: in a controlled clinical trial some nursing home residents were given the seasonal flu shot and others weren't. There was no difference in sickness rates for influenza between the two groups, in other words the flu shot does nothing (nothing beneficial, anyway).
All the hype about getting the flu shot is among the silliest superstitions there are. Whenever you see some moron claim that the flu kills 35,000 people per year, the truth is that on the CDC's website it shows only a couple thousand of Americans die of influenza each year, but over 30,000 die of PNEUMONIA, generally caused by bacteria, not an influenza virus. [Yes, a lot of these bacterial pneumonia cases are secondary infections after getting the flu, but bacterial infections can be treated...most who die are really old or otherwise really sick from some other disease.] There's so much BS spread by TV, etc. about this that an intelligent person trusts NONE of it. |

I can now say firsthand how much the flu sucks, but I am in a category of age and health that will likely allow me to survive it.....
When I cared for my elderly father, who had many health problems, I got him his flu shots every year. He didn't have to suffer through the flu on top of everything else, and for that I am grateful, whether or not it was due to the shots is kind of irrelevant. I may not get a flu shot, as having it *possibly* gives me some natural immunity to further episodes.

Under no circumstance in my life will I ever get any sort of flu vaccine. The end. They will have to approach me in the same manner as if they were trying to take my guns and voice. The line is very clear.

Have any of you heard of the flu epidemic from the start of the 20th Century? You might want to read up on it. Should something that bad actually happen, Mass wouldn't be the only state considering such a law. Pretty much everyone on this forum was force vaccinated against something when they were a child. When's the last time you heard of someone catching polio?

What else should the government force us to do?
I suggest you get a copy of Liberty and Tyranny.

Quote:
Most people don't know about the epidemic of 1918. The world population at that time was under 2 billion. The flu pandemic of 1918 killed 50 to 100 million people worldwide and 1/3 of the planet got infected. The people most hit weren't the youngest and old, but largely people in their 20's and 30's. Using today's population, that would be 200 to 400 million people killed and close to 3 billion people who become, for the large part, very, very ill. Should New York Health workers be vaccinated? Hell yes. There are close to 19M people packed into the New York Metro area. A massive flu outbreak means that healthy Health workers will be needed. Most hospital employees are required to get flu shots anyways and most of them want it since they will be getting exposed. Some other info about 1918 you might not know... - The global mortality rate from the 1918/1919 pandemic is not known, but it is estimated that 10% to 20% of those who were infected died (compared to .1% with influenza - With about a third of the world population infected, this case-fatality ratio means that 3% to 6% of the entire global population died (can you say global recession anyone?) - This pandemic has been described as "the greatest medical holocaust in history" and may have killed more people than the Black Death.[14] - As many as 17 million died in India, about 5% of India's population at the time.[15] In Japan, 23 million people were affected, and 390,000 died.[16] In the U.S., about 28% of the population suffered, and 500,000 to 675,000 died.[17] In Britain as many as 250,000 died; in France more than 400,000.[18] In Canada approximately 50,000 died.[19] - Entire villages perished in Alaska - symptoms in 1918 were so unusual that initially influenza was misdiagnosed as dengue, cholera, or typhoid. One observer wrote, "One of the most striking of the complications was hemorrhage from mucous membranes, especially from the nose, stomach, and intestine. Bleeding from the ears and petechial hemorrhages in the skin also occurred. - Another unusual feature of this pandemic was that it mostly killed young adults, with 99% of pandemic influenza deaths occurring in people under 65, and more than half in young adults 20 to 40 years old. In other words, YES health workers should get vaccinated. Governments taking action to avoid this type of Pandemic is important. |
