Default 22-250 twist rate?

I have a Savage 22-250 with a 1 in 12 twist. My question is what should the best weight of bullet for that twist, and what should be the heaviest shot with that rate of twist?

Default 22-250?

Those of you who load for the 22-250 with a 1 in 12 twist barrell what is the heaviest bullet you load, and what weight do you find to work best? I have plenty 55 grain Nosler BT in .224 cause that is what I load most for my AR rifles, but don't know if that is going to be too heavy. Thanks as always and I hope you all have a great weekend. Looks like cold and rain here.

45-55 with 52 probably having the best results.

LDBennett enlightened me about the Greenhill formula a week or so ago. I then found a free online Greenhill formula calculator

Calculate barrel twist rates. FREE!

punch the figures for the bullet into this link and see if the twist requirement exceeds your barrels twist rate. http://kwk.us/twist.html
