6/9/2003 A West Delavan Avenue resident shot an intruder who tried to
rob him inside his house Sunday, Northwest District officers said.

Police said the resident let a woman come into his house at 3:40 a.m.
because of a supposed emergency, only to have a man enter later and
demand money. When the intruder picked up a knife, police said, the
resident shot him in the stomach with a registered .38 revolver. The
couple fled on foot on Dewitt Street.

I thought it was ilegal to defend oneself in New York. Is this the classic case of only an outlaw having a gun?

This is the classic case of a serf being PERMITED by big bro to own a gun, untill they can get guns totally banned and start confiscation!
