Default Will not be posting here anymore

I made a post here today that I thought was relevant to the current political situation of the day. It contained quotes from printed sources and was not just grabbed out of the air. The person quoted is going to be a candidate for president and the post asked you to consider what type of person this is.
It has been removed by a moderator who I can only guess supports this candidate.
Therefore I will post no more here at TFF there are plenty of other sites to visit.

I saw that thread. Granted, I'm fairly new here, but I can't imagine anyone here - especially a moderator on a firearms forum - supporting that candidate.

The only thing that stood out to me was how the choice words were still discernable, despite all the *'s. I know that the language was a central point in the thread, but perhaps it needed more editing.

Think I know the post you mean. Quotes from documented sources about Hillary's mouth. I thought it was edited appropriately, indeed, I am researching the woman and her comments, myself. We do not need this foul mouthed prima donna for anything, much less a president.

rosierita - your name sounds feminine, so I am sorry if my views about Hillary are upsetting to you. I too would not mind a woman in the white house, but a woman like the president on Battlestar Galactica, not a vicious, foul-mouthed ignorant bi*ch like HC. Just my .02 worth

Thats why the thread was moved.

Heres one way to look at it...We as a gentlemanly nation will never put up with a "person" like hillary as president, we have ethics that will not be swayed, but by the same token TFF has a set rules regarding language, so whether the topic be politically motivated or one about green eggs and ham, if it breaks the rules we cant be biased.

I considered a "hard edit" to allow the thread to stay up, but as you can imigine, the thread was ABOUT language, so when you remove the words in question it will leave very little content.

No...LOL, I seriously doubt that anyone on this forum supports the little troll faced, battle-axe whom we speak of...Swamp was just upset that his post was deleted.

Boy...Thats a whole nuther topic and quite personal, but...

I've known you a long time IB and I'm sure you remember a time when ol' Crp tried to walk the line, and tried hard, but it was one of my many failures in life...See, the thing is, if you were hanging out having a few drinks with the boys and myself, you'd hear me use offensive language myself. The language didn't bother me. The rules that we have to follow are the only thing I was trying to uphold.

this is one of the most fairly moderated sites in existance...

if you are that unhappy, than "goodbye"...

i am always intrigued that people dont simply leave, they announce there "departure" with some fanfare, they make critical remarks directed at Mods and Admin, and i garuntee they return often to read the reply statements...

Mods and Admin have a tough and thankless job, cut them some slack...

or if you are that concerned or offended communicate with them via PM or email and request a clarification of why a post was edited or deleted...

i am all for free speech, and a spirited debate, but without Mods and Admin this place would not be worth visiting...

we have all been poofed, or edited...

get over it.

and dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

best regards, mike.

I too saw that post and seriously considered deleting it for exactly the same reason as Crp ultimately did. I might well have done so myself if he had not. It was obvious from the content that Swamp did not post the material simply to show everyone he knew the infamous "F" word. That was never the issue. The problem Crp faced was deciding if the consistant use of the word, however disguised, was "a bit over the line" insofar as TFF rules of language use are concerned. I, for one, think his decision was correct in this case. As moderators, we try very hard to keep the forums a place for interesting conversations on a myriad of topics, and one where folks do not have to fear constantly running into foul language and flames. It's not easy sometimes, especially with a post like Swamp's where it was clear his actual intent was not to be vile, but to make a valid point, indeed, a point with which I daresay 98% of the folks on TFF would agree.

Pistol, you took the words right out of my mouth. I agree 100%.

I, too, thought long and hard about whether it crossed the line or not. Before I had made a final judgment, Crp took care of it.

haha lead! i wasnt in the least bit offended! what would offend me most would be this nation electing her into the office of the presidency...

& for the record, i'm not so sure that a woman is fit for commander in chief, ANY WOMAN!! God made us different for a reason & not all, heck none that i can think of, can set their emotions aside & govern effectively. (having said that about emotions, i come as close to setting emotions aside as anyone i know, but i still have my "weak" moments & God help us all if i were ever elected! PMS is a *itch & my nuke finger would go crazy on those days. vermin would be eliminated, but i dont know how much the fallout would cost the rest of us. )

I am an adult, the post did not bother me in least and I will tell you exactly why:

Every time the word was used, it was disguised, and it was a quotation from Hillary Retard Clinton as I remember it.

Saying the word just to say it is definately means for deletion from the site, however, I feel that the context in which it was stated was not meant offensively to anyone here and should have been left on the site due to the fact that EVERYONE should know exactly why not to vote for her.

The truth is the truth, and if this post we speak of accurately represented her then I believe it should stand.

Just my 2 cents, I don't own the site, so I follow the rules just as everyone else not that I have to agree with them at times, such is life.

thats why TFF is such a nice place to visit.

best regards, mike.

To accuse the moderator of supporting that candidate?

We try to keep this site PG-13 rated.
That considered, the reason was obvious.

EVERYONE is free to stay.....or go.

If one poof send you packing............

Nor did it BOTHER me, but we have rules here...I think the part that you are missing is that, if Swamp's thread was allowed to stay "For good reason" the next thread filled with vile language would have to be allowed because the author felt that it was in "good reason".

Bottom line...In my opinion...No one here is voting for her regardless.

As an aside, I am a little ashamed of having never been registered to vote, call it being lazy, overworked, or whatever, but with the prospect of this battle-axe becoming President, I am now registered and cant wait to vote against her.

I am new here so I really try not to offend anyone either on purpose or accidentally. However should I submit a post and it was removed I would ask the moderator why. Should I not receive a satisfactory answer I would have to assume that there is something I missed. Would I contact someone else??? Maybe, but probably not.I appreciate swamprats decision not to post here if that is his decision.I definitely appreciate this forum and will not leave unless it is much more serious than having a post removed.Should anyone believe that being a moderator is simple, I strongly suggest they volunteer to be a moderator for a while . Just my thoughts. catfish
