Hello fellow fire arm fans,
I have some Iver Johnson top breaks that i inherited and research of on the internet led me to here and I have learned a lot from member- the late Bill Goforth reading some of his posts. What a nice and laid back guy, in fact, reading a lot of threads every member here seems pretty laid back so i decided to join TFF. Please to meet all of you! ![]() Here is my collection of heir looms that was recently added to the rest of my arsenal. (from L to R) -H&R .38 s&w The American Double Action. First model round barrel -Iver Johnson .38 hammerless lrg frame model 2 SN R6303 -US Revolver Co. .38 lrg frame -US Revolver Co. .32 sm frame -Iver Johnson .32 sm frame model 2 Unfortunately the .32 Iver will be sacrificed for parts as it does not work.

Welcome to the group. I have an Iver Johnston 38 1922. It was my wife's grandfather's city issue gun in 1922. I was looking up info on this gun when I joined this forum. Her gun is in very good condition. It sat in a drawer for about 70 years. I don't think he ever fired it.
I was able to get some 38 S&W ammo for it and it works fine. How about that trigger pull. I don't see how you could get and good shots off with that killer trigger pull...

Thanks for the welcomes. gvw3: I agree it is like a workout for my index finger. Hopefully I can get some BP cartridges for the my H&R and IJ hammerless model 2. Now as for my USs im trying to find out if they can take modern rounds. But these are cool little conversation pieces and for being low end revolvers of the time, I think they are pretty nice.

Welcome to the forum, ssDOM.
You are right; the place is relaxing to be in; great discussions that can get lively; lots of fun here and the people genuinely care about each other. The mods do a great job behind the scenes to make sure the place stays healthy. |

Welcome. Nice collection. I think most of us have soft spot for the old IJ and HR revolvers. I have a couple American Bull Dogs a 32 & a 38 that belonged to my grandfather and they are priceless to me.

Welcome ssDom, nice to have you. By any chance, you wouldn't happen to have any of the Eddy's or Dryers Limited Addition Thin Mint ice cream around? I sure could use some.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes. Sorry 76Highboy i do not have any ice cream in the house since it never lasts more than a day.......same with potato chips...I usually end up eating them all on the way back from the grocery store. Todd51, those are some beautiful and nice condition revolvers. Do they get shot much?

Welcome. Great folks hereabouts.
See the "California" thing. Sorry. Are you allowed to talk to people about guns? ![]() Last edited by Buckshot; 06-27-2012 at 04:48 AM.. |
