Or go back south where they can live under a flag they like better.

well i have no problem with what flag anybody flies so long as the American flag is flown above it. their loyalty should be to America first.

What a FINE young man. One in a million! Pretty sad commentary on our nation as of late.

I'm glad he got the support he deserves.

Umm, no. It can be level with, but not higher than the Colors. I'm sure that my Jewish wife would be glad to know that your statement is "as it should" be, though. Especially since the Christian faith was born from the Jewish tradition. But that is another thread entirely. (I am a southern baptist, fwiw.)

Not according to US law, and the majority of sites that I found with information on the Christian flag. The thing is, is that there are many other religions in this country besides the Christian faith. It IS NOT the be all, end all religion here. To say that it is goes against the very reason that this country was founded to begin with. Like I said, I am faithful, and I am a believer, but this is where I separate myself with a portion of people from my faith.

Thing is,countries come and countries go.The U.S.could fall tomorrow, but the Christian will remain.
Not country, family or self comes before it.Law is one thing, but we live by our conscience.
I don't believe God recognizes a piece of cloth in the breeze to begin with.So I guess the discussion is actually for naught. However if law is how you state it to be on the subject, our Church will take down the American flag so not to be in violation. We too are Baptist.

The US Flag always flies above other flags. Even in foreign countries it flies above or not at all.

That is what I was taught in school and the military.

Being Baptist doesn't mean being above the law no matter what your feelings are. In this country the American Flag flies higher than other flags. In other countries it flies level with the host countries flag it never takes a subservient position. There is no nation called Christian and trying to place a church in the same category as a nation is like comparing Kumquats to apples, 2 completely different subjects. Don't confuse your Christianity with your nationality.

Geez, I've never seen an argument before over whether the American flag or Christian flag flies higher. It is true when flown side by side on poles no flag should fly higher than the American flag. That said, I have been in a number of churches that displayed the Christian flag, it was always on the inside of the church with the American flag on one side, the Christian flag on the other AT EQUAL HEIGHTS.

It isn't like anyone is asking it to be a choice of one over the other. I don't think our government has ever sought to reign supreme over our faith. In fact in the Marine Corps we were told that our motto "Semper Fidelis" meant always faithful to our God , our country, and our Corps...IN THAT ORDER.

Let's not make an issue where none exists.

Congrats by the way to Cody and the patriots who supported him. One thing about standing up for the flag...when you do somebodies always got your back.

I agree with RoMTs last post.

Our country was founded on Christian ideals, but the reason we're here is due to the fact that the founding families were escaping religious persecution/tyranny. It is WHY we have freedom of religion. So that at no time, can any religion claim superiority over the government or the people.

At NO time do I want to see my flag subject to another. Not another country, nor any religion.

No sir, what is wrong with the Christian faith is puting something else before God.Is that my fault.
Before you get upset?Who cares? That's called conviction. I don't apologize for affenses taken toward God.Holier than thou?Maybe,if you're not Chistian..

Lentz, It's not about placing something over your faith or God. That choice between the two doesn't exist. The "rules" of respect for the flag were drawn up without any such consideration, AND ARE VOLUNTARY, except for the military. Because the founding fathers acknowledged their own faith in God, the flag which represents this nation encompasses that faith. That flag dips to no other. Likewise no other flag flies above it. It is not permitted to touch the ground. Brave men have died struggling to keep it raised. Men of all faiths, and none. On the other hand it drapes the coffins of veterans and has been ripped apart to use as battle dressings for the wounded. So symbolically it has been soaked in the blood of heros and patriots. I don't know, maybe only veterans can understand this, but in not permitting any other flag to fly above it, those who pledge allegiance to and serve under that flag are in no way placing their country ahead of God or Jesus Christ. I don't know what more I can say to explain it except to say this; If you want to fly your Christian flag above your own American flag, on your property, you have that right. That is the right that flag represents, but in doing so you show your own ignorance and disrespect. God gave us this nation, and the stars and stripes represents it. If we all followed your reasoning eventually we'd have baptist flags, and lutheran flags, stars of David, buddhas, and pentagrams all flying above the American flag. Of course by your faith you place Christ above it all, as do many of us. But we don't need seperate flags to prove it.
