Default Jay Scott Grips...Ivory?

Jay Scott 24 Ruger Single Six Pistol Grips. I don't know what they are made from? There is a picture of a steer carved into them.

Jay Scott? Ivory? Nor even Ivory polymer, white plastic.

Heat a pin red hot and on touch the underside of the grip. If it melts it's some sort of synthetic if it smells like hair burning it's bone or ivory.

No need to use a heated pin. Jay Scott was not a custom maker,. A subsidy of Colt, they made good utilitarian grips for the mass market. They did make some nice genuine faux pearl grips.

Used Jay Scott grips sell for $20 - $30 a set on eBay. They are good quality grips IMO.
