OK I followed the tips I read here. My Brass and the brass I picked up a the range is clean as a whistle. It looks beter than the new brass I bought.
50% Corn (lyman) 50% Walnut (Zilla lizzard bedding from Petco) 1 Capful of Nu Finish Carwax 1 Drier sheet cut into 1/4's Pour corn and walnut media into Tumbler (Lyman Twin Tumbler or equal). Dribble 1 capful of Nu Finish wax around top of media. Turn unit on and let run 15 minutes, this evenly distributes the wax. Quarter a new drier softner sheet and sit on top of media. Add dirty brass. Two hours of tumbling and the brass looks better than brand new. Clean as a whistle. I was impressed. The drier sheets will be filthy, trash them. Thanks for the tips Guys/Gals OCYMMV

You do know that a used dryer sheet will work to, don't you?

Yep. That way they do double duty. I never throw out tee shirts either. I'll cut them into cleaning patches and throw 3 or 4 of those in. The blue roll of paper shop towels torn into pieces works too.

OK, I'm curious... Exactly what does the dryer sheet accomplish ? I imagine that it absorbs the dust, but I don't know. Please explain.

Yes, it absorbs the dust and other impurities that help to make the media last longer.
Also adding some mineral spirits along with the Nu Finish car wax helps to clean the brass even quicker. |

Yep, helps collect dust and stuff from the media. Throw a nice clean piece of dryer sheet in with the brass and it'll come out black and nasty. Just remember to cut them up or they tend get wrapped around the post holding the bowl on the vibratory cleaners.

No it won't. Just be sure to tumble for at least 15 min, preferrably 30 before you add your brass to ensure that the car polish gets evenly distributed and doesn't clump up.
