Joe:
My uncle and I camped out just off the lake, we were to get up early, scoot across the lake in his john boat, and hunt till noon, I had all my gear in a backpack, jerky, optics, ect...That morning long about 5:00 the little alarm went off, and we jumped up scurring around getting ready to go. Well, the temp was 30 degrees (cold for Texas) but I got warm in the camp with the running around, getting ready, and sipping coffee so I decided to put my coat in my backpack till I cooled off, we got across the lake, walked about a quarter mile to my spot and I got settled in...My uncle took off, and I knew I'd see him at 12:00 noon...never sooner than 11:30. Thats when I realized I was cold, reaching in my pack I quickly realized that my coat never made it in, I had forgot. A t-shirt over a long sleeve mock shirt would have to do, I knew I wasn't in danger of freezing to death or anything, but boy I sure felt stupid, and that ol' sunshine starting to peek through the trees an hour later or so sure looked good...I had planned to sit in my blind that day, but stalking sure turned into a good idea, and kept me a little warmer. It dosent get too cold in Texas compared to other areas in the world, but you wouldn't know it while hunting on the lake with no coat that day. ~Crp

To drunk to hunt
To drunk to fish To drunk ta get drunk.....did fish fer pigs once. I resemble that remark. Need to dredge up the ole pig story and bring it up front. Almost peed myself when I first read it, but now that I know the lay of the land, don't get near me if y'all bring it back! ![]()

IPT, after you reminded me of the pig fishing story, I just had to go dig it up ... be sure to empty your bladder before you start reading.

Not me, I swear! But the dumbest thing I've seen when fishing:
In Panama City Beach, Florida in the seventies - myself and some USAF buddies were fishing off one of the piers, about 50 yards out from the Yankee tourists swimming in the water. A young twenty-something guy in shorts is paddling out into the open water in an inner tube - a piece of meat on a shark hook in his lap, line running back to his rod on the pier! He chunks the meat overboard, and calmly paddles back - gabs his rod and resumes sharkfishing! Yeah, there were plenty of sharks there - saw a line of 'em once when flying the aeroclub Cessna 172 over the beach. Those unknowing tourists were within a hundred yards of dozens of small to moderate sized sharks. ![]()
