Found a 1903 Springfield on a rack today. Phenomenal condition - CMP Collector Grade per the dealer. The thing looked brand new. Asking $1,100. (Wow!) Is that a for real asking price? How would one know if the rifle is the real deal? (Its not a A3, its marked 1903 and it has the mag cut off.) Are they bringing those prices these days?
Back in the early 80s I "passed" on an 03 that somebody who answered my ad " 'Want to buy' Military guns" in a newspaper offered to me for $150...I had been seeing them at recent shows CHEAPER...
That was the SECOND most stupidest thing I ever did in my life since I was 12...the FIRST was selling my DCM Garand with chamber tool, stock cleaning kit, bayonet, original 10 pocket WWII belt, and a bandolier of M2 ball for $475 in 1992....
The problems we face today are
there because the people who work
for a living are outnumbered by those
who vote for a living.
I guess I'm recalling the "good ol' days" when they had these and Mausers at Roses for something like $50 all stacked in a barrell. "Just go pick out the one you like best." They were doing that with Mosins and SKS's not all that long ago.
