Seem that the farmers in Georgia are having a problem finding laborers to harvest the crops since the crack down in illegals.
http://www.newser.com/article/d9scsa...-concerns.html I wonder what would happen if all the entitlement crowd were kicked off the welfare, foodstamp, and other programs that enable slackers to mooch off the working people. Tell them to either go to work in the fields or starve. I know what it is like to to work daylight to dark on a farm. Actually it builds good work ethic, something most young people don't have a clue about. Of course it's not just the young people, it's all of the entitlement society!

I remember working one job from 7 am to 3 pm and then another from 4 pm to 12 am back to back for about 10 yrs. I can no longer do that due to physical issues, but even at 40 yrs old I could outwork most 18-20 yr olds. I feel for the farmers because todays youth do not have that sort of work ethic and most wont work a job outside of the a/c. It will take grown men to fill those positions.

I would'a been jap-slapped up side the head if I hadn't got off my butt and went to work. Not that I didn't want to, I just knew I had better work if I wanted anything other than the basics. Nobody was going to hand me anything I didn't have coming. First job was on weekends as a caddy, at 15 yrs old.

I worked at my Dads Service Station (remember those?) when I was 8 years old. I worked fer free even, just so I could say I was helpin out.
I pumped gas, checked and topped fluids, did the restrooms, you name it. I was lucky tho. His station was between school and home. I got to stop in both ways. ![]() What has happened to our society amazes me. ![]()

In the Yukon territory of Canada, in order to apply for welfare, one must work 20 hours/week for the province. I know many Indians in Canada that tell me that as young people they suffered from alcoholism greatly as many Indians seem to have problems with alcohol all across the country. Canada offered them training, decent jobs, a subsidized plan of home ownership (outside the village) and social support staff to keep them on the straight and narrow (away from the booze) and it was the only reason they are alive today to talk about it and also be productive citizens.
In ALaska, their cousins and villages are dying from the effects of govt entitlements in the form of monitary assistance which is no more than modern day genocide. |

Same inthe outback here Zhurh , the folks who go back to their traditional life and food dont have anywhere near the health issues/ social problems that the rest have ..
GunNut89 , my kids all work as well so you aint alone ,( and its the only way to get anywhere .. so good onyou ) but even your generation has to see too many of their own are self deluded with "entitlement" ( my daughters friends here sheeeesh ) Last edited by jack404; 01-24-2012 at 12:22 AM.. |
