Thanks for reporting posts - The Firearms Forum

I want to thank the folks that help patrol this site and report posts not suitable for this forum.

I have been a mod here for some time now, and lately I do not get much time to review as much as I used to. Whenever I receive a notice of a reported post, I always check it out and delete if necessary.

Also, thanks to the other mods that work hard to keep this site a family oriented place to visit.

I totally agree with ISB and would like to add that it IS hard to be here all the time and it seems that as we grow we gain more popularity with the spammers, which of course equates to more spam/porn threads being created and more opportunity for our members to bump into those threads before we have a chance to snuff them out.

I'd like to add a word of reminder for our seasoned Internet users and a caution to the few less experienced among us, that, indeed a couple members have experienced downloading mailcious codes lately as a result of following links posted by new members who only sign up to cause grief and to advertise their various "businesses".

Please take a moment to think about what you are doing before following a link that has been posted by a new member, that post count is there for a reason...If a member has managed to acquire several hundred posts and is linking to a firearm video, then he is most likely an Average Joe and part of the family here, alternately, if he has one post under his belt and is advertising porno, you can rest assured that upon following his link you will find trouble at the end of it.

Please do not hesitate to use the Report Post function that is located to the bottom left of each post made if you come up on an obvious spam/porn post...This will automaticaly send an email to each and every Mod and Admin that we have and will help to promply take care of the issue before an unsuspecting member were to possibly click the wrong thing inside that thread/post.

I'd like to add my own thanks for the help provided to the mods and admin folks by the members here on TFF. We do the very best we can to keep the forums free of spam and the even less desirable material that pops up from time to time, and your continued help in that endeavor is very greatly appreciated.

I like it here too...but i should point out that you guys have already gotten me in trouble with your porn links. =P

I clicked on the "Free bullet Porn" thread and it was automatically blocked by my company web washer stating that it had a "100% probability that it contained porn" and was reported to my administrator...

So maybe Crpdeth should restate his position that it's really the FOG's (!) that are pulling this place down!!!!!!! haha
