Do you know about the "Free State Project"? If you don't just punch it in as a keyword.
The fight for freedom is not fought overseas in distant lands with guns, missles and bombs. It is fought here with words, pen and paper and I fear, we are loosing it.

That sounds like an interesting idea, but I'm afraid it's probably doomed to fail. For starters, 20,000 people will be hard to mobilize. I can't think of anywhere in the US that could immediately accept 20,000 new faces. That would require a lot in the way of new housing and infrastructure. Not to mention that there aren't 20,000 jobs available for these people.

Secondly, 20,000 people is not a whole lot to sway state politics. Evenn 200,000 might not be enough.

Third, even if they somehow managed to influence the way their state governs itself, they don't stand a snowball's chance in Hell of swaying Federal laws. The best they could hope for is to make a small political statement that would be briefly noted in the news, and then quickly brushed aside.

Again, I like the idea. But I couldn't imagine quitting my job and moving somewhere new just to make a political statement that would likely have no real effect. This type of political movement needs to reach the masses, not just a select few.

That's my 2 cents......

yes i have heard about it, and it does sound like a
chalenge but i think it is workable. 20,000 at the state level
to get into the state legislatures into key positions and
offices and where the rubber meets the road could be
very effective in swaying the mindset of the people. o
Once you accomplish this you don't worry about the Federal
blackmailers, you start practicing states rights. The states
have the jurisdiction over the Federal, but they do not
practice it. I think it could work, that's the way i see it.

Hey Sniper, punch in keyword: Free State Project. Rather than me trying to explain it all you can check it out. Your opinion may change a bit. As far as you moving and such you've got to decide that for yourself. 20,000 poeple moving to a state will create new jobs.
