30-30 AI Based Wildcats Any Info??? - The Firearms Forum

Have been looking at 30-30 AI based wildcats for a custom Contender barrel. Looking at 25 or 22 caliber but, would appreciate any info on any caliber. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum

There are a few Ackley cartridges based on the 30-30 but the case limits pressure so there's not much can be done that's exciting. I've shot the 30-30 in my contender for IHMSA & it works well but the 30 Herret is better. My favorite to shoot in my contender has always been the 7mm TCU. For a custom caliber in the contender I'd lean more to a higher pressure parent case like the .308.
