Default Accuracy and Reliability

I own 4 45s all with a 5" slide. I am thinking of dropping down to a 4.25" slide in the form of and Ed Brown Kobra Carry or a Wilson Combat. Can anyone tell me what I can expect in terms of my groups opening up or malfunctions begining to arise?

I found no reliability shortages when I bought my Eclipse Ultra (3" gun) several years ago. First shot accuracy was fine too. Shooting fast is where I notice the length/weight show up. Taking my time, my Ultra shot just as tight as my oder 5" Kimber.

The advance in firearms quality just in the last 10 years is amazing.
