Default "cup pressure" how is that actaully measured?

i have read alot about cup pressure and i have an understanding what it is but, i dont know how anyone actually can measure it? and they dont have the spects just so so, they have it down in print to hundreds of PSI. but what i dont understand and why i am asking this question is there is so much conflicting load data coming right from manufactures of products that i am not sure what to believe. but back to the first question, how is cup pressure actually measured?

"CUP" dates back to the days before pizeo-electronics...

Been lots of methods of measurement of "chamber pressure" over the years. Most of the early ones were analog, and some were derivative. Of late the digital fad has predominated. Pressure can be measure directly ala the "copper crush cylinder" method with a pizeo electric crystal replacing the copper pellet and a modified chamber/cartridge. For us "realtive" types, some "blue pills" and a stain guage sufficies .>MW

Huh?
Blue pills - are we talking about Viagra? This I understand.

Actually, the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufactures' Institute (SAMMI) established standards for arms and ammunition and does the testing. In Europe the Commission International Permanente (CIP) performs the same function.
