I got this idea because everybody seems to have one. This ones for the revolvers. There is another spot for the 1911's in that forum.
Lets see your ugliest gun that works everytime you pull the trigger. We are not talking about your Sunday go to meeting gun. The beat up one that just fits your hand. Its scratched and has the blue worn off, but you love it anyway because it is ugly. Post a picture...........dont be shy ![]()

I don't own that many guns, and the only one I'd call a beater is the Colt Frontier Scout....although I just gave it a re-bluing job, it doesn't look that beat anymore.....

Sorry, no pic but my favorite "knock around" gun is an old used Taurus M44 I picked up several years ago. It's got scratches and blueing worn off in places but it's comfortable, dependable and accurate. Oh, and when you hit something with that .44 mag, it really knocks it around...

I just got a Taurus 608. I got it for $225 because it had holster wear and was dirty. I've cleaned it up, but I think I'm going to leave the holster wear alone. I think this is gonna be my favorite beat up gun. Before this I had a High Standard Sentinal .22 that fit the bill.

Like mo jenkins and stenson, my favorite (and only) beat-up revolver is a Charter Arms snubnose. Totally reliable.
mo - I bought it at Riley's in Hookset back in the 80's. |

An old Colt Cobra...
It's a first series and wish It could talk.. "Somebody" put a lot of miles on it but it still will put 6 rds whereever you desire them to go. Gotta love the old Colt Snubbies. If Colt had any sense they'd start making them again. Always a market for a good snubby.. Best Wishes, JP

My beater is actually a vintage Colt 45 Peacemaker. I shoot it at SASS along with my Vaquero as those are the only 2 I have in 45 Colt.
It has almost no bluing left on it, and the cylinder has almost no play in it, still tight. Only replaced the hammer spring in it. Oh, and it sees BP handloads quite often as I don't really trust the Cowboy loads in it.

Smith & Wesson Model 36 in .38 special. It's not all that beat up since I'm pretty careful about my weapons, but it is almost 20 years old and is not +P rated.

Without bringing out the camera... I'd say my S&W Model 10 square butt .38spl. snubby with rubber grips. Old and not real pretty, it's a good shooter and reliable to be sure.

No camera; but, I have a swamper GP-100. I put tefla-coat to it just to make it look like a gun. Still ugly as sin; but, it will tap any time.
