Hi
I aquired abox of Gun Junk recently and found this in there

It may be gun related or may not - anyone got any ideas ?

The yellow thing looks like a protective plastic cap from the manufacturer

Cheers

Just dont know Pardner....?

Exposed threads ends show obvious contact with outside wearing....

Slot or cam slot on side is for placement alignment somehow.... maybe mortar, small recoiless rifle rig alignment piece or such.....

interesting...suppose U got in "grab bag " or other parts had no such relations....?

Well with that tape measure scale, you got me confused right off the bat!

I have no idea, but I would think the nut being tightened, would align or reshape something w/ the 'belled' end. Is that a dovetail cut into the shaft?

The yellow cap is probably for protecting the threads.

Now careful if Glocknut replies, He won't have a clue, but he'll come up w/ a cockamanee story to try to fool you...

The other odds and ends were related to 303 Enfields, I know them reasonably well and know that it is not from them

A bit of a mystery

Looks heavy. Maybe a backup weapon? Tasmanian throwing rod? It's getting late, must go to bed.

Could be for drawing two components together under tension.

If it is military I would say not the weapon, but support equipment, T and E gear, vehicle mount or similar.

I'm thinking Ron is correct. There should be a split sleeve around the shank and a washer sitting on top. As you tighten the nut the sleeve expands.

The notch in the shank helps to keep the whole thing from spinning.
