Default car help asap

My car dies on me and i dont want to have it tows to dealership if i can help it. I got in my car and nothing worked it was totally. I then jumped it but still nothing happened, while jumping it the lights didnt even come on. I stopped to eat dinner on campus and when i came out it didnt work before that it was fine it wasnt off for more than an hour. this happened to me 2 days prior but when i touched the jumper cabels to the tourminal witout attaching it another car the lights came on and it started. what could be wrong with bonnie the boneville.

headzilla, it sounds like your Battery cables are loose/corroded check them
if they are loose/corroded tighten/clean them,
also your alternator may not be charging. if you get it started and it is running
good take the positive cable off the battery if the car dies, the alternator
is BAD

ditto, corroded battery terminals and clamps, get a steel wool brush and clean em off, tighten em up, try again.

You got grounding problems. Don't stop at the battery, check the cables at the starter, solonoid, frame, engine ground strap and so on. Somethings not making good contact.

Shadow, Ruger, and Redneck are all spot on. Check the battery and all the connections on "bonnie".

On most car made in the last 15 years, removing the + battery cable while the engine is running will cause your alternator to go bad.
