Default Bullet Ban

This is what the dummies tried to enact this past Friday in Hawaii..

Encoded ammunition would be registered to the purchaser and would include the date of transaction, the purchaser’s name, date of birth, drivers license number, and the serial number of the ammunition. The procession or sale of non-coded/serialized ammunition would be prohibited.

Where would the serial number be on the bullet.. ah scape it off, on the case, a catch em or use a revolver.. and WHO is gonna engrave the ammo?
Another case of the politicos NOT thinking ....

Liberals are a scary bunch, they are so convinced they have the answer, but they haven't even considered outcomes.....what a bunch of loons

I think they have a darker agenda here...This would clearly raise the price of ammo, which is already outrageously high and also make it difficult for handloaders, possibly making all cast bullet molds illegal...Heck, I probably haven't even scratched the surface of the changes this law would create, but those few did come to mind.

And like Pat says...The bad guys will just scrape off the serial numbers.

The scary thing is that they are not stupid at all. They are wrong in their views and beliefs but they know exactly what they're doing; that is passing laws that make it so difficult an expensive to enjoy the shooting sports that we'll all give it up. It's the same as the Occupational Health and Safety regulations we were all talking about a few months back. They didn't actually care about the safety of ammunition factory workers or retailers while handling ammo, they just wanted to make a box of 20 .30-06 ammo cost about $80 so that we'd all sell our guns and take up knitting. They have tried for years to take the guns and failed in many ways(succeeded in FAR too many) that now they are going after ammunition.

If this encoding makes some kinds of ammunition cost five, six or even ten times what it costs now, and makes some illegal(like 22 said, how they going to encode #8 bird shot?) so much the better from their point of view.

They know that American's, and for a lesser extent Canadians are not just going to lay down their firearms because they cannot, legally, make us do so. So they using back doors to take our ammo. Are you going to keep shooting if you have to debate whether to buy a box of ammo or a new pair of work boots, or a set of tires for your car. I shoot because it is a sport that I can enjoy relatively inexpensively, for now, they make ammo much more expensive, I'll HAVE to take up golf, rock climbing or cross-stitch because I wouldn't be able to afford ammo.

This stuff makes me very mad, hence the long rant. These (explitive deleted) want us all to conform to their flawed world view and values, they don't understand the joy of shooting a perfect round, putting your own supper on the table or restoring a piece of history, and they fear what they don't understand. They don't understand us as shooters and just like the Nazis and Communists they would dissarm the people to make us meek. An unnarmed people cannot challenge them when they decide to destroy our liberty completely.

Okay, I HOPE that my last statement is melodramatic, and things have not gone that far into the toilet, but when we're faced with the same crap from these people every day, where else can we be but in the can?

The last 2 boxes of Winchester 30.06 ammunition I bought for this last deer season had a pattern of blue markings on each round. The Win. ballistic silver tip bullet casing is not brass colored, but silver. The blue markings show up pretty easy.
Do ya'll know what these markings are?

Thank God we still have the Armed Forces, I dont know what Id do, thats all I can say.
There were days when I fired 400 rounds in less than 10 minutes. 400 5.56 rounds is probably around or under $200. Fired the most powerful machine guns in the world and I come back to the civilian world and they wont even let me have a rimfire.

We all know this sort of crap has nothing to do with controlling crime. It is about controlling us!

I guess my 10,000 rounds of .308 will be grandfathered.

all ammo prices are still going up i would also hate to see what my .22mag ammo will cost. 4 years ago it cost 9.50 now it costs 15.00. and i would like to see them put it on birdshot like ya'all said and .17 rounds. it wouldn't stop anyone from doing anything illegal anyways. if someone is going to shoot someone else they arent thinking about the consencuences (misspelled) And people that already do stuff illegal are only going to start reloading and making there own bullets.

they give us all these rules to follow even if we don't agree with them, but we abide by them. i would like to see them just stop the criminals and give us back all our rights

Angry Re: Bullet Ban

I see they put a lot of thought into this.
Each individual would have to have custom ammo with all this information to be included on it from the mfg.

I can see it now order a box of 9mm get it delivered all nice and stamped 3 years later cost $450 a box, By that time you have moved and all the info you had stamped is now obsolete and you have to start over.

Do you send it back or turn it in to the state?

Bottom line no ammo sold in your state because the mfg's just won't or can't do it.

No gun control but ammo control
