Looks like it has good information.

But all that pink color totally turned me off from more than a casual glance.

Wish you gals well but it's too PC gender oriented for me.

It's good to see "factions" banding together for a common cause.
That may be the only way Big Brother will actually take notice of us.

the more voices , the louder we are. That's why WAGC was started back ins 1994...... to get female gunowners off their butts and into the fight. after all it's our safety and freedom too

We need to be united!

Default GOA event in 1997 -WAGC

GOA event in 1997 -WAGC

I was there, that was quit an experience!

----------------------------------

http://www.gunowners.org/a062697.htm

www.gunowners.org
Jun 1997
GOA to hold Press Conference / GOF to host Seminar Luncheon
-- plus other odds and ends
by Gun Owners of America
8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102
Springfield, VA 22151
(703) 321-8585, fax: 321-8408
(Thursday, June 26, 1997) In cooperation with the office of Representative
Helen Chenoweth (R-ID), two events will be held on Capitol Hill the
afternoon of Monday, July 14, 1997. Both events are free; GOA members and
supporters are invited to attend.

First, Gun Owners Foundation will present a seminar/luncheon. Members of
Congress and their Firearms/Judiciary Staffs will receive invitations.

Are women placed at risk by the new Lautenberg Act? Does a law that
supposedly protects women and children actually endanger those same groups? These
questions will be answered over lunch as the following speakers share
their knowledge and experience:

Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Suzanna Gratia-Hupp
Member Texas State House of Representatives
Survivor of the Luby's massacre in Killeen, Texas
Other Speakers:
Janalee Tobias
President, Women Against Gun Control
Rebecca John Wyatt
President, SWARM (Safety for Women and Responsible Motherhood)
*Additional Speakers TBA*
Following the luncheon, Gun Owners of America will hold a press
conference. Its purpose will be to accelerate efforts to repeal the Lautenberg
Domestic Violence Gun Ban. As you may know, Rep. Chenoweth's bill (H.R. 1009) is
the only legislation currently before Congress which will repeal the gun
ban in its entirety. It is also the leading repeal initiative, as its 27
cosponsors will attest.

Rep. Chenoweth, GOA personnel, and representatives of several grass-roots
organizations will gather with members of the press to focus attention on
the issue. One highlight will be when Janalee Tobias, President of Women
Against Gun Control, presents Rep. Chenoweth with boxes of petitions in
support of the repeal -- petitions that many of you have signed. Note: if you
have not as yet signed the Women Against Gun Control petition, a cgi version
is at http://www.gunowners.org/petition.htm on the GOA website. We will append your
personal information and any comment you care to make to a copy of the
petition and deliver it to WAGC. Men and women both are invited to sign. Help
make the presentation of the petition a visually exciting moment! If you do
not have web access, we will fax or e-mail you a copy upon request.

Any Second Amendment supporter who will be in the D.C. area on July 14 is
welcome to attend these events. However, space is limited. Please call
Jerry Tramontano at GOA headquarters (703) 321-8585 to reserve your seat if you
wish to be a part of this historic day. You may also RSVP via e-mail.

Default WAGC Italian Interview

-----------

http://www.wingsisp.com/hutch/wagc.htm

Women Against Gun Control

An Interview with Nancy Herrington & Janalee Tobias

by Carlo Stagnaro

According to liberals, women require special protection by the government,
so as to secure their right not to be discriminated against. Of course,
this implies women are currently discriminated against by men and are unable
to get others to respect their rights. But this liberal view of the
"helpless little woman" sounds a bit patronizingly sexist, doesn't it?

By contrast, if one thinks women have the same rights and the same
responsibilities as men, one must recognize their right to self defense. After
all, it would be nonsense to advocate equal opportunity while forcing women to
give up the only chance they have to protect themselves from aggression.

National press reports, however, usually present women as against gun
self-defense. They fear firearms and, according to most journalists and
politicians, would like a complete gun ban. Well, this is not true for a lot of
women whom the mainstream media never mention. For example, there is in
America an organization named Women Against Gun Control (http://www.wagc.com)
which defends the Second Amendment of the US Constitutions and the right to
keep and bear arms.

In order to understand their views, we addressed several questions to
Janalee Tobias, WAGC President, and Nancy Herrington, WAGC EVP.

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and
strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally
superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that
fatal bullet wound.

You mean school children get to read the point of view of responsible gun owners and actually get to learn about the Second Ammendment?!
Way to go girl!
Congratulations!
I've grown so tired of liberals banning access to websights that they don't agree with...tagging them as instruments of "hate speech".
That was a hard fought victory and you should be commended for it!

As I said the pink is too PC for me. I've never taken to dressing little girls in pink and little boys in blue so as I said in my opening comment it turned me totally off.

So, it may serve your purpose but be advised that there are females out there (me included) who have a slight problem when it comes to how things are presented to us.

Again, I wish your group nothing but the best.

T, that's the nice thing about having lots of different sites that support Second Amendment rights. The pink may not appeal to you and me, but it will attract women who might feel intimidated coming to a site like ours.
