Good reloading how to manual - The Firearms Forum

My grandfather recently passed away and he left me all of his reloading supplies. Everything to cast your own bullets to all the tools primers powders. I could go on and on. The only thing I don't have is a manual to figure out how to use it all. Anyone know of a good manual to learn how.

Welcome to TFF!

Lyman cast bullet handbook, and the Lyman 49th edition reloading manual. The first 1/4 of both books are all about how to. The last 3/4 of both books are load data for all the different cartridges.

Im gonna move this thread over to Ammo and Reloading forum.

"The ABC's of Reloading" is another good one. Look at several and pick the ones you like.

Lyman #49 is excellent.

The previous version Of The ABC's of Reloading (9th?) is fine; the current one sucks.

I got a lot of good info out of my Lee manual. I also have the Lyman 49th, Hodgdon load manual ( I only use Win 231/HP-38).

What reloading machine did you inherit?

Welcome to TFF Jlwnfd2 ! In order, these are my choices Lyman 49th, Hornady 8th and the ABC's. I would read at least two manuals before doing anything; I like to cross reference at least 2 or 3 for any new loads that I am working up.

I just started last week i have a lee its pretty good and if you have any ? this is where to be these guys are awesome and to update on how it went the first two shots cut and the third was a 3/4 right and i flinched cant wait to shoot next round today just stepped away from the press thanks again TFF.

I got the ABC's of Reloading then Sierra's Reloading Manual.
I also took a starter course (for free of course) at one of my local gun shops.
Been making my own since.

Prolly the most popular "how to" manual is The ABCs of Reloading followed closely by Lyman's 49th Edition Reloading Handbook. Lyman has load data also. Since I shoot 99% cast lead bullets, I use Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd Edition (I have both the 3rd and 4th, but prefer the 3rd Edition best).

The latest caliber or gear is no substitute for experience and skill. Rifles and cartridges don't make hits -- shooters do. Fact of life: After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!

Two Glock 9mm's, Ruger LC9, Kimber Custom II .45ACP, Ruger 10/22, 12 ga. pump shotgun, and Rem .243 WIN. I reload all of my guns, except the shotgun.
