Can you imagine the suffering? You know how it feels to get in your car/truck in the summer time. Left in the vehicle to die, thats a shame. I agree with your statement on what the punishment should be.

Or if not, castrated. That eliminates that particular gene from the pool.

Pretty much the same thing happened in Atlanta yesterday, except someone walking by saw the kids and busted a window to get them out, and then called the police.

There are some people who just don't deserve children!

In Indiana, they'll pay the piper. It probably won't matter, they will never see their kids again. Sterilization should be a mandatory condition of release.

One point in our favor, the parents involved will never know a single day of peace. Once they reach an institution, the inmates will make them pay. The thugs with kids will be their worse nightmares.

Just heard on Fox: It was the babys grandfather who found the child in the car.

we get a lot of asians doing this here , no idea on what the sun can do , but they left the window open , kids dead but its not their fault , even had one woman here try to sue the CASINO where she left the kid in the car in the car park for 2 hours ...

casino car parks are where a lot of these incidents happen

I find it funny that some of you find this appalling yet getting an infant drunk is totally OK with you.

I don't think it is ok to get an infant drunk. I just don't think that calling the cops is justified. It seems like everytime we turn around the cops are called out for the leasat offensive thing. My story was that I let my daughter drink some beer but the when I was under the hood she drank what was left in the can. If I drink 3 beers a year, that is alot for me. So, would I deserve to have the cops called on me? Now if mommy looks like a meth addict, or my neighbor seems to do that sort of thing alot, that is another story.

My grandfather let me drink beer when I was about 3, but he never locked me in the car until I died. He taught me how to be a good person and he was a good man. Should they call the cops on him?

Thats been my opinion for years. My wife and I can't have children. We tried for years. Did inseminations did invetro. Nothing worked for us. My meth addict cousin gets knocked up and her daughter taken at 4 months old.

AND I was more than happy to take in and adopt my princess. People like my wife and I who can't have them and want them so bad, and then people like my cousin who can have them and shouldn't.

Alcohol poisoning in children is common. It attacks the childs central nervous system and can be fatal in small doses. If a child has had a small amount ( drank it while you weren't looking ), and you know they couldn't have had much, but the child is stumbling, or can't keep their balance, get them to an emergency room right away.

This happens all too often here. A lot with dogs as well. Even a police officer left his K9 partner in the heat and killed him.

I also think the morons that leave their pets in the car in this heat should be drawn and quartered and left in a hot car to suffer the same fate as their pet!

i think bound up in a car is too nice of a punishment. build a 4x4x4 box out of corrugated tin and stick them in there to roast, be sure to build it on a nice hard rock. dont want them having a soft place to sit

i don't let my kids out of my site for two minutes...it is unfathomable to me that somebody can just leave their kids in the car for hours....as far as what I think should happen to them...well that's not hard to figure out

My family has lived through this. I have a Nephew who left his baby in the car. He thought that his wife took the baby to day care, but she put her in his car thinking he would take her before he went to work.
To see my Sister suffer the loss of her first Grandbaby, and to see the torment that my Nephew and his wife still deal with is heart renching.
As a father of five I look at this and say, how can it happen, how can someone make a mistake like that? It is a question that I cant answer. So, say what you will, I'm sure that my Nephey would rather be dean and gone right now than to suffer daily with the guilt.

There are accidents I am sure, and then there is negligence. Most of these stories are negligence. Bakerconch, I remember your nephews situation and I remember the devastation the family lived thru and are still living thru, not believing something like that could happen to them and I know for a FACT it was an accident. And I am in no way justifying their actions because they screwed up royally. But they did not INTEND to leave their child in the car. But most of these people just go off and KNOWINGLY leave these children and animals in cars and they should be punished.
