I like my OM Blackhawk, but I believe my Smith 58 is more accurate. This was the first time I ever fired the gun.

That's perfectly centered. Your eyes are crooked.

I enjoy shooting my S&W Model 57 with .41 handloads. I use Berry's plated .41 bullet and enough Unique to get it going about 900 fps. Accurate and fun, but in truth very close to shooting .44 Special loads from a Model 29.

Hey whats that black spot? Powder burns?
![]() Nice shooting. I don't own the 41 mag but have heard a lot of positive feedback on it. I own 2 Ruger 44 mags, one for hunting and one for general woods carry and enjoy them both.

My .41 Blackhawk is my favorite! I wish I had one of the Marlin lever guns to go with it.
It's a pleasure to shoot, and for a reloader it gives you a decent range of power levels to work with. |

I really like the .41 cartridge. I've been toying with the idea of having a T/C Encore rifle barrel made for .41. It would be a very good, short brush gun.

Agree. There is a lot to like about the 41. Unfortunately, I feel it is on the endangered list. It was designed to fill the 'void' between 357 and 44. I guess the void isn't as large as some thought.
I have a Taurus Tracker in 41. It has a very stern recoil. Gets your attention. |

Its my favorite cartridge. Im a small fry, and while I dont have any problem shootn a 44mag, I personally can do with my .41mag anything I need w/out the .44mag recoil. 6" 57 and my stout (215gr LSWC Keith-Type over 10.0gr of Unique) hand loads and snappy but still nowhere near that a hot .44 feels like(to me anyways). Also have a 4.625" Blackhawk and an 1894 with an old steel tube weaver in .41mag. They are my Hog Harvesters.

Bought this brand new in 1982 or 83 from Lew Horton Limited Editions. Built before and much heavier than the S&W.
This is my favorite heavy revolver caliber. ![]() zfk55 |
