Default my Dog

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this He pays nothing, and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than He needs, but He is not required to do any upkeep. If He makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day. I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head, For Pete's sake, my dog is a Democrat!

What you're describing can be described as charity. You're providing charity for something you love and welcome into your home.

Democrats don't much care for charity as it gets in the way of the government taking care of people in need. If the government can't take care of the people in need, then they lose the control the Democrats (can we call 'em Cleptocrats?) desperately long for.

I cut this cartoon out of my paper in 2007, I see it every day on my refrigerator door.

It reminds me of the old Bob Hope Zombie line.

I printed it out and put it on my music binder. I absolutely love this... I think I'll print a copy to hang on my wall at work.

What a GREAT cartoon -
I added it to my pic's which rotate as a screen-saver.
It looks COOL stretched out to fit my new 23 inch wide-screen monitor!

THANK YOU, John!

Don't thank me, thank Darby Conley! He's the one that came up with this gem. He's my new hero comic artist after Jim Davis.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! A friend brought in that comic one Sunday morning to Church specifically to show me. I still get a good laugh and a smile out of it every time I see it.

Darby Conley along with Bruce Tinsley of Mallard Fillmore fame are my favorite strip creators.
Plus, being a cat owner(? ), I can relate.

Dogs are almost like a girlfriend. We take them out. We open the door for them to go in or out. We always buy them meals. We talk gibberish to them to make them smile (sweet nothings). We caress them, we stroke their egos. We tell them we love them, when no one is looking.

In some ways they are better. They don't mind if we have more than one. They don't care if we fart. They don't talk. They love us more, when we stay out late. If we drop food on the ground, they don't complain, they clean it up.

I heard a nice illustrative story about us and our dogs.
Suppose visitors from another planet wanted to contact us, and set up a means of watching us in our daily activity for a while before they make contact.
They see the dogs sleep while the humans work.
They see the dogs with their heads out the window of the car enjoying the ride while a human drives the car.
They see the dogs go for walks with a leash leading back to the human following behind them.
They see the dogs squat and poop, and the human following behind them pick it up and carry it.

So when they decide to make contact with the ruling species on the planet, who do they approach?

Well...it all depends... did you stop him before he left you something on your leg? If not...then you have been owned!!!

In San Francisco, they would wisely choose the dogs for first contact.
