Default H & R Revolver model 939

I'm new to Firearms Forum and not too computer literate, but I wanted more information and possibly a value about a used gun I purchased in 1972 or 1973. It's a H & R revolver, model 939, S#AE16115. I'm getting ready to had it down to my step son. I was told this was used for target shooting and it has an adjustable rear site. It's in excellent condition with no rust. Used very little. Thanks for any help.

AE = 1968 manufacture of your 939.
I gave about $ 300 for mine, in like new condition, with original box.
I do see them in excellent condition going for about that sometimes.
Normally I would say a little less though, probably $ 250-275 average.
Good shooters, and considered a target shooter, but I find my Sportsman models shoot as well or better, and I think the Sportsman sights are better also.
