Default Dawn in Vietnam ( a very badly written prose)

Dawn in Vietnam

In the twilight of the morning, dawn
When the mortars cease to roar
You may hear the murmuring river
Or watch the sea caress the shore

There are those now waiting
For the sun that’s yet to rise
There is nothing to console them
There is moisture in their eyes

Some have spent their dawn in jungles
Some, in interrupted sleep
The only ones to sleep untroubled
Are those commended to the deep

Vietnam is a ‘beautiful’ land
With the people so insecure
They ask America for a hand
Their communist problem to cure

Now we are here and we must stand
And do the best that we can Do
To help make this a free land
And bolster our freedom too

The life is rough, there is no doubt
Our families we long to see
But before we finish and get out
The communist shall no longer be

Green’s the color of their clothing
Men who tread the streets of hell
The sights to which their eyes bore witness
Few, if any, tongues can tell

They have seen the night exploded
Touched a life, too late to save
Seen a comrade fall in battle
Watched his body fill a grave

Silver bugles slowly mourn them
For men are not supposed to cry
These are not tears, it’s dew, that’s forming
In our eyes for those who died

In every war there is battle
In every battle men must die
Then when the battle’s finally over
Row upon row, dead heroes lie

They have died as men, in battle
Though there life in years were few
They have fought with courage Spartan
Love to God, their country too

Fond the memories of their passing
Brave the deeds which they contrived
America’s lost her sons in battles
St. Michael’s welcome they’ve received

And the heavenly host, they gather
To pay tribute to these few
From the halls of Montezuma
To the Heavens in the blue

These they march, the stalwart heroes
In the ranks of heavens best
And on earth the new breeds’ forming
Prepare to meet their test

There was none to ask the questions
They all knew the reason why
Wars are fought for want of freedom
Some will live and some must die

Their clay on the sod, repose now
As their souls leave battles hell
They are gone, their tour has ended
Brave hearts bid their own farewell

Bright the faith that burned within them
Just, the cause, for which they die
Hallowed, is the ground they fought on
And the earth in which they lie

Many years ago our ancestors sought
A land were they could be free
Since then many battles have been fought
So that this freedom, could be

I am proud to say that I am here
To help fight for this land
And until it’s rid of communist fear
I’ll contribute my helping hand

If that is badly written, how about some more? Very Good!

I can't believe it's been a year since you wrote this, Mith.Just as beautiful as the first time I read it.
