When you can pull one out to go to range and the wife says "when did you get that"?
The correct answer is "I have had it a couple of years just don't shoot it much" Just went throught this drill If she can't remember what have go buy another one ![]()

As the saying goes "If you know how many guns you have, you don't have enough."

Oh yeah, works most of the time, 22. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Wives don't pay all that much attention after you get past 30 or so pistols and revolvers, or so I've found.

How many guns...............32 Guns .................one for each day of the month with two in the shop for repairs. |

I have as many as I need, but not all the guns I want.! Turnabout is fair play. Everytime I ask the wife, " new outfit?" "oh no, just haven't worn it in a while" or " No, It's been in the closet for awhile" LOL
My new favorite for her..."I traded for it" (traded $$ )

We should do another survey, it was enlightening...hey, I'll do it...
But you know, my Dad (a child of the Depression...)always thought NOBODY needed anything but one good auto or pump shotgun, (Yeah, he lived in a shotgun only deer state...) and anybody who had more guns than that was just wasting his good money and was a therefore a goof....and if he owned a HANDGUN he was DEFINITELY a goof because "everybody who was in the Army KNEW you couldn't hit anything with a pistol..." (Although he DID allow later a man MIGHT need a good .22 rifle too )Yeah, Dad, you were right as always, I AM a goof, on both counts.... ![]()

PS,
My dad was like yours. We lived in NM., a rifle state and his idea was a shotgun, with changeable chokes for different birds, a 22 for rabbits & small game and a 30.06 for deer, elk and lion. As for minimum needed? If I had my way, I need a new one at least twice a month! Just don't get them like I wish! His 30.06 was a converted 1903 Springfield. As my brother and I reached hunting age he found 2 1903A3s and converted them for us. This was early sixties and a local pawn shop had a bunch of them muzzle down in a barrel. He went thru them and picked what he thought were the best pair for us at $20 each. He bought stock blanks and finished them himself. We had a distant relative who was a gunsmith and he bent the bolts for us and put on a pair of Weaver 4X scopes on'em. Great weapons.

Not sure if there is ever enough.
People are always saying that to me. "Dont you have enough guns???" My farther-in-law has said that to me. This man has no less than 30,000 Basebale cards. Cards from all over, some worth thosands. So I said one day finally, "don't you have enough Baseball cards??" Well his answer was as you would expect, "no, its what I collect". So whats the differance? There is none. Some people collect stamps, coins, etc. and others collect firearms. But since firearms are the cause of all the "evil" in the universe we get some kind of stigma attached to us. SO HELL NO !!! YOU CANT EVER HAVE ENOUGH GUNS !!
