Default First mow of the year

Well, I've been putting it off for several days, but this afternoon I finally got out and mowed the yard.

Mow?????? SoMo, you just uttered the horrible "M" word!!! That one's even more vile than any of George Carlin's infamous "Seven Words!"

Well, at least we more fortunate folks here in Colorado won't have to worry about using it for at least another month.

Mow? I don’t even own one of those critters.
There is a reason that I moved to the ROCKY Mountains.

We still have about a foot and a half of snow covering the yard.

Now that is an Idea I could just fill my yard with rocks and not mow any more

Now tell us you use one of the old fashioned push mowers. I have not seen one in years. No gas required, just legs and arms, then both to rake the clippings. Please don't mention leaf blowers - it should be legal to destroy them peacefully, by diverting groups of tree huggers that don't take kindly to farm work by diverting subsidies to popcorn and candy, before such monstrosities grew to spawn horrible nightmares that paid for food not to be grown. Whatever happened to that doorway into summer, with tree houses, wooded hills, and high meadows with streams?

Nothing personal here, I'm just agin anything that burns gas that can be powered by humans that need the excercise. Oh, and I'm agin the Arabs, too. Get out and push your car? Silly, but it may come to that, if we allow the Bush family to continue making love to the Saudis.

LL - Commentary not sponcered by this forum - just free speech, big mouth stuff, see?

You're not making any friends up north here, SM

Maybe when the 3 feet of snow melts I'll find my lawn and mow it. I figure "first mow" around April 30th. For now I still have half-a-tank of gas in the snowblower that needs burning off.

I have a fairly small yard, so I use an electric one. Real quiet, too. I do have to push it,

Mine's electric too, Bruce. I also have an electric weed-eater and a small electric chain saw. I HATE fooling with gasoline.

Shoot, already done one and a half,, that was just the trimming the wife wanted.
Also had to till the garden area to get the onions in.. I should have mowed aging already but keep telling the wife I need to sharpen the mower blades. :-)
