I don't have the Cart. overall lengeth of a .17 Remington in any of my reloading manuels for a .17 trimmed down to 1.786 case length using a 25 Gr Hornedy HP budditt.

Upon further thought, You might not be able to get that COL. If the bullet will not set deep enough due to trim length being what it is.

Just checked agein and the figures above are correct . It is 2.170" for a case trimmed to 1.785

BG......"Cartridges Of The World" lists the .17 Remington as having a case length of 1.79" and an Overall Length of 1.86".

Intersting! I took a caliper and measured a C.O.L of a factory .17 Remington w/ 25 Gr HP and it measuered at 2.150
