Mine is a .222 with a curly maple stock, not a forester but a bench rifle and I was offered 1000.00 last year. Where are you at and what is the caliber?

At a gun show in my neck of the woods, I saw one very similar to this rifle. The price on it was $900..... As an asking price I think it was not out of line. The condition was about 95% with handling marks on the stock, some bluing starting to thin from case ware. Older Sako's have a good fallowing. Quality rifles for sure.
