I am thinking of buying this scope off amazon
Found here So, is this a good buy? Is this a decent brand? I live in western washington and rain / moisture is a issue and I want to get a 6 - 24x50 mm Mil Dot Rifle Scope that wont break the bank. I have a Savage .308 but I might get my hands on a savage in 300 win. ![]() ![]() ![]() anyways I appreciate all feedback. Thank you!

I'm not familiar with that brand.
I saw that one of the better known optics companies just put out a fairly cheap 6x20 or 6x24 scope. Ol' Phartness prevents me from remembering who the hell it was. ![]() It's been my experience that you get what you pay for, especially in optics. Buy once, cry once. If you are going to shoot a lot, spend the money and get a good scope. Also, be aware that there are a lot of fakes out there. ![]() Leupold released this counterfeit warning last year. http://www.leupold.com/corporate/res...rfeit-warning/ There are also some fake ACOGs & Aimpoints that Obamas buds, the Chinese are putting out as well. ![]() Art

The Vortex scope tested has a retail price of $509. The scope listed by HTM has a listed retail price of $200. This is a considerable price/quality difference.
Considering optics, with very few exceptions, you get what you pay for.
