Gaboon, is that how you spell it?

That thing will kill ya dead, especially if the hospital gives you anti venom serum.

I can't remember if thats the Rhinoceros-horned Viper or the spreading adder...this place has around 150 various snakes, plus I was with a skittish girl who kept moving pretty fast, I'm going back to spend more time and get better pics, I'll label them this time

I bet you're right about it being a Horned Viper because the Spreading Adder is "Hog Nosed".....Thats why I couldnt figure out what this one was...I knew the head didn't look right at all, but the body...well, heck now that I think of it...you said all these were vemomious right? I dont think the Spreading Adder is, I'll have to research that sometime.

Oh...P.S.

Take the skittish girl with you when you go back, if you want my advice... It's "just another serpentarium" without good company.

The spreading adder is also known as the Eastern Hognose snake, they are called spreading adders because they "spread" like a cobra to appear manacing, but they're harmless. They are feared because of the spreading bahavior and because they can look like a copperhead or cotton mouth. They also emit a hissing sound by exhaling air and play dead like opossums to get rid of predators. This has been a public service announcment by bunnyhunter.
