It is no surprise. He is a scumbag, furthermore, I don't use Paypal or Ebay due to their anti firearms stance.

I get fraud emails from con artists posing as eBay and PayPal quite often, probably 3-5 each week. I never click on any links or reply to the email at all.

The thing to do is to forward the email, including the headers (right click the email and pull up the properties), to the security depts at eBay and PayPal. They have gotten pretty good at tracking down this particular brand of zipperhead. Unfortunately, there are plenty more to take the place of every one that gets zapped.

As to eBay's and PayPal's anti-gun stance, that's true to a large degree. No complete firearms, firearm receivers, high-capacity magazines or ammunition can be sold on eBay and PayPal's rules prohibit using their service to buy those specific items. That's how ********* and AuctionArms are doing as well as they are. If eBay still allowed firearm sales, ********* would be just another dead web auction site.

I manage to keep that PowerSeller rating though...
