Which bullet weight were you thinking of loading? Normal for 30-30 is 150 and 170 gr flat points for tube guns. Since you have a single, spire points would be good. I can look in my manuals when I get home. Let me know what weight you would like. |

For my Savage Mod 340 bolt gun, I've had real good luck with the Hornady 130 spitzer loaded with 36.0 gr of Hodgdon Varget and a standard Winchester WLR primer.

I used 130 in my Marlin lever. I think they were BTHP. They really ruined a lot of ground hogs day.
