Default NE Pennsylvania area HELP for fallen soldier

A local hero will be laid to rest tomorrow and we have learned that the beloved Westboro Baptist Church will be in attendance. We need to keep these people from disrupting our hero's memorial. Here is a clip from local paper today.

Kansas church group plans protest at Kridlo’s funeralWestboro Baptist Church states deaths punishment for homosexuality, other sins.
BILL O ’ BOYLE boboyle@timesleader.com

The Westboro Baptist Church, based in Topeka, Kan., is planning a protest of the military funeral of fallen soldier Spc. Dale Kridlo of Hughestown.

According to the church’s website, the protest will take place Wednesday at Kridlo’s funeral at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston.

The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the West Pittston National Guard Armory on Susquehanna Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 in St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston.

A picketing notice on the Westboro Baptist Church’s website was headlined, “God hates America & is killing our troops in His wrath.”

The message under the headline read:

“Military funerals have become pagan orgies of idolatrous blasphemy, where they pray to the dunghill gods of Sodom & play taps to a fallen fool.”

The web posting says the above message will be “preached in respectful, lawful proximity to the memorial of Spc. Dale J. Kridlo” on Wednesday at the church service.

The web posting then states: “Spc. Kridlo gave his life for the Constitutional right of the Westboro Baptist Church to warn America. To deny our First Amendment rights is to declare to the world that Spc. Kridlo died in vain, and that America is a nation of sodomite hypocrites.”

The Westboro posting ends by stating, “The Lord no longer builds the American house; nor does the Lord watch over and protect America. These soldiers are dying for the homosexual and other sins of America. God is now America’s enemy, and God Himself is fighting against America.”

Messages left on the Westboro Baptist Church answering machine were not returned. An e-mail sent to the church was not answered.

Many should be there to tell this group just how far off base they are..

Article from this evening. We will have near 1000 people attending to confront Westboro Baptist. Froggy 101 Country is organizing to meet prior to going to the Funeral. If anyone in NE Penna area we are meeting at the old WalMart Location at Oak St just off route 315. Meeting time is 8:00 AM.

Hundreds plan counter-protest at soldier's funeral

Several hundred people plan to congregate in Pittston on Wednesday morning to block any Westboro Baptist Church picketers who show up to Army Spc. Dale Kridlo’s funeral, said Dan Rogers Jr., who organized the event online.

“The people here in Northeastern Pennsylvania are unique individuals,” Rogers, of Scranton, said. “We’ll basically make a statement that we’re here, and you’re not going to do this in our neck of the woods.”

Westboro Baptist — which often pickets military funerals with signs lauding the deaths of U.S. soldiers — triggered public outrage this week with its announcement a five-member team is headed to Pittston for Kridlo’s funeral.

Based in Kansas, Westboro Baptist pickets military funerals because its members believe soldiers fight for a “global disgrace” and that their deaths are God’s punishment for America’s tolerance of homosexuality.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey of Scranton denounced their possible visit.

“The protesters should respect the sacrifice of Specialist Kridlo and his family by going back to Kansas and thank God that our country has brave men and women who defend our freedom,” Casey said. “If this cruel protest goes forward, I hope that the people of Pittston will come out to honor Specialist Kridlo and shield his family from this senseless stunt.”

Under state law, any protesters — whether from Westboro Baptist or Northeastern Pennsylvania — will have to stay at least 500 feet away from St. John the Evangelist Church.

The Westboro Baptist Church did show up but due to overwheming numbers who turned out to support Spc Dale Kridlo they stood down the street about two blocks away and displayed NO signs and were silent. There were only 5 or 6 of them and I guess due to some recent clashes they had they used better judgement LOL. Most people there did not even know they were there. We have to keep this kind of pressure on them wherever they go. Service and procession was emotional and very patriotic.

Terryu1, thanks for the update and all of your support for this heroic man and his family!

Also, what your community did to these bottom feeders is exactly what ALL American's need to do when faced with such evil.

"Never has so many owed so much to so few" Winston Churchill -

Although this quote was in regards to the RAF during WWII I feel it relates to our modern day armed forces who continue to beckon the call to duty over an over. They face death daly for their country, each other and so that the enemy knows the relentless stalk of death, misery and defeat.

rest Soldier you have given your all.
