Default Harrington and Richardson 0.410

I just received a hand-me-down 410 gauge Harrison and Richardson gun. I was hoping you could help me out with information on it.

On the bore it reads "410 12m/m choke." What does 12 m/m mean?

The serial no? behind the trigger is A123092. The gun is in fair condition.

What is the gun worth? Can you tell me anything else about this gun.

The external dimension of a 410 shotshell is approximately 11.5mm. I presume that, at some time in the past (most probably in Europe) the 410 shotshell was referred to as a 12mm shotshell.

the 410 shell was first an american invention the 12mm and 14 mm shotshells were european small bore loading.

H&R marked their 410's with the 410-12mm marking between 1922 and 1936. after that time they were only marked 410 when the 3 inch shells were introduced.

during this time H&R manufactured two difference sizes of frames for the 410 each with their own model number. the model 1915/05 small frame and the model 1908/08 standard size frame.

H&R used the A letter code to denote a single barrel shotgun early on my best guess as to the age of your shotgun would be about 1929 or so.
