Default Saying Hi

Been lurking around here for awhile. I'm a 57yr old former Marine and Nam Vet. Love 1911's and 22's, a good drink of whiskey, and a warm fire. Live in Kansas. Retired. If you'll have me I'd like to hang around awhile.

Hi there swamprat. Nothing wrong with having another Jarhead around, specially a 1911 fan. Glad to have you with us. Enjoy yourself. Oh yea, the FNG usually buys the first round down in the pumphouse. Just watch out for that there Dawg who hides all his plastic pieces around the bar.

Anyone who is a friend of 1911's is a friend of mine.

Although if your buying shots of whiskey, I like Scotch or Bourbon. I'll take mine on ice.

Welcome to the forums, Swamp! Drag up a rock, pour yourself a double, and enjoy. It's Kyblaster's turn to buy this week. Come to think of it, it was his turn last week too!

I guess I'm buying this time. However, anyone packing a Glock at the time is exempt.

Welcome swamprat. I think you will like it here. Besides it take 3 1911's to equal 1 Glock.

Just don't shoot any reloads.
RELOADS + GLOCKS = BOOM!

But Ranger, all of the correct answers are given by the Glockies. It's axiomatic!

Welcome Swampie, If single-malt scotch whiskey is tolerable in my glass, I'll tolerate any kind of whiskey in yours. And our 1911's can get together for a play-date. Life is good!

Swampie, tell me that sour mash Whiskey is your deal, and, I'm in love!
Since Kansas is flat as my ex-wife, i got to question the "swamp" part, tho.
Don't mean nothing- you obviously got your priorities in order!
Welcome to our wierd world! Be cautious of the trolls, of which we have many, and post when you can; a 1911 guy is on the team, regardless of the other factors! That you are a rimfire person simply adds to your worth.
Welcome to insanity!

I lived in Florida and ran a air boat. People kept asking how a half-breed Indian from Kansas ( did I mention I'm half Creek) became a swamprat and the name stuck.
As for whiskey as long as its good it can be sour mash, scotch, malt, or what ever. The key factor being good.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes and insanity is just a way of working outside the box.
