Default how do you really feel?

OK here are some of my thoughts:
#1. I don't think the government should be using our tax dollars to BAIL out and private industry, if they go broke because of poor management then so be it.

#2. No bank should be nationalized for any reason!

#3. If the home owner has bought more than they can afford and have nothing to fall back on then I feel for them but I can't see using my money to pay their mortgage. No one is paying mine. When I was pushed into retirement and lost my in come for a year Carla & I where hurting big time I sold the house and down sized (in payments) so that I could keep a roof over our heads, no help from the government!!

#4. The tea bags and the marches are fine little protests that will not get the job done, but will get some attention for the news SHOWS. I didn't say news because I don't feel that we are getting the news we are being feed just what they wants us to eat and nothing more.

In summary I will add these words;
We the people of the United States of America need a leader that will tell the rest of the world to TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN PROBLEMS, one that will read the Constitution and follow it, one that will tell the Justice Dept. to follow the laws that have been voted on and approved by the people NOT MAKE THE LAWS. We need some one with the courage to tell the crooked members of Washington to pack their bags and go home "YOUR FIRED" then lock their butts away. The states can then vote on a replacement. I also believe that no one should be allowed to serve more than four years in any office that we the people vote on, NO SECOND TERM FOR ANY ONE. Right now we have politicians that have their entire adult life in office and haven't a clue what it is like to hold a real job.
No I don't know who it should be nor what party, sex, color or any other details, what I do know is that if we don't get this person in office very very soon then the American way of life as we know it will be gone forever and the folks that want to live free normal lives will have to hide to do so.
An all out revolution isn't going to change any thing if we don't put real men and women with backbones in the offices that run this country.
So start looking PLEASE in the mean time

In addition, we need single item legislation. No riders, no pork, no addendums period. That is the only way we will ever bring credence to the elected members of congress, let them vote on one single issue. The recent stimulus bill was, I am sure all here agree, the worst example of how congress operates. The clowns knew not of what they voted. IMHO, anyone who voted for that crap bill should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail The current system mandates that a polititian prostitute himself/herself, can not be true to their belief. Single item legislation is the only way America can save itself.

Rankles me that Billions will be spent to help our Government Sponsored Victim Class (GSVC), who constitute less than eight percent of home mortgage holders. Again, our blessed reps are removing a consequence of negative behavior!

Well Hell,

You guys all hit the nail on the little flat spot and didn't leave me anything to b*&ch about.

I like the single item item legislation idea. No way this bunch of a-holes would go for it.

There have always been poor and pitiful people on this earth. No matter what, some people will be poor. I believe the our govt. should make sure that the old, the sick, and the children of this country don't starve.

I feel the only group who deserves any special treatment are our veterans.

We have turned our back on God, and just Rev. Wright said, America's chickens have come home to roost...........What ever happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

there are 5 states with the major mortgage problems....
the billions of dollars needed to help failed mortgages just don't add up...
or did all these homes have a worth over a million each? I doubt that.

The stimulus package giving amnesty to all the illegal aliens is ridiculous.
It's costing us way too much money.
Not to mention they are responsible for over a million crimes in the past 10 years! And we are going to get punished for most of them by paying for it or giving up our guns? When they get released from jail they don't get deported! What's wrong with this picture? And that poor guy who got sued by them will probably never call in the authorites again.

Giving 4 billion to ACORN, known for voter fraud and now obstruction of the law should be taken out of the stimulus package.

The whole system sucks!

oops....is this a ranting thread???

so here are some stats from one state alone.

From the L. A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County, 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County )

(All 10 items above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

that's my rant for today!

There was a time when you new who the good and who the bad guys were. The Bad guys did one decent thing, they let everyone know who they were. A scull and crossbones on a black cap for example, just as a clue.

These days? We have lost the plot and are screwed. To what degree? I dont know. Can it be fixed? I dont know. Is someone somewhere making a ton of money out of this, Oh yes, I am sure.

Someone once pointed out to me banks have granite or marble in the front to give an impression of solid , traditional stability. Perhaps they should replace it all with plastic.

Alexander Fraser Tytler, Lord Woodhouselee (October 15, 1747 - January 5, 1813), a Scottish-born British lawyer and writer once said: "A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. "

It would seem we may well have reached that point in November last year.

There it is in a simple little quote. It's amazing that you can condense the destruction of a great nation into 23 words.

True sir.

I have come to learn that the two parties tell you what you want to hear, depending on what side of the fence your on. Once there in office they hit pay dirt. To me there is no one out there worth voting for. The middle class has been fooled for far too long and it's only a matter of time till the middle class demands a new party. No one trusts the Republican or Demo. To answer you question:

You're right of course, but the silent majority has to start standing up in some form and fashion, maybe this is it… Each huricane begins with but a single drop of rain.

Agreed. I would also include a law, something that can't be dispensed with, that requires the final version of all legislation in any law making body, federal or state, to be read aloud, in its entirety, before a full session of that body prior to any final vote, and only those members who have been present for the entire reading may cast a vote. This would both keep legislation to a minimum and those laws that do pass would be much shorter and simpler.

I'm also waiting for a Presidential candidate to say that he/she will veto any bill that does not include the repeal of five out of date laws. Any new program must be preceded by the elimination of three old ones. To create a new department, two must be eliminated. And on, and on…

Build the fence, build it now!!! Also, prohibited businesses from deducting the labor of workers without valid SSN's from their income taxes and make all earnings of illegal's forfeit as gains from unlawful activity. If we stop the easy flow across the border, dry up the "jobs that Americans won't do" and enlist local law enforcement to check citizenship as they see fit and hold illegal's for ICE, most of the problem would be solved with little effort.

people need to understand that they can not continue to buy everything that they want as if they were an eight year old in a candy store.

spending tomorrow's dollar today is insane and will bite u in the behind.

this soceity is going to wake up too late and find itself in the bottom of the can with no way out.

too many credit cards.........too many one parent homes (or kids being raised by grandparents)...........too little common sense.........too many gang bangers..............too much drug traffic

and now we have an inner circle that wants to eliminate capitalism and have this country reborn under socialism

WAKE UP america

Can anyone elaborate on how the deficit will be cut in half in 4 years?

Sure, this is easy.

The deficit in 2013 will be half of that in 2009. That's why he's working so hard to make sure the 2009 deficit is close to 2 trillion dollars: so that a 1 trillion dollar deficit will be half!

The problem is that most of the jobs are now jobs that "Americans won't do." Far too many see any kind of work or exertion as below them.

I don't think The Mighty Obozzo and his inmates are very good at math at all...
I'm still trying to figure out where they keep coming up with all these numbers!
I used to do estimating for electrical jobs and they come up with bogus numbers for all these road projects?
And then today McCain brought it to our attention that alot of jobs are pay as you go and add a percentage??? what the F*&&^^%*??? NOBODY does business like that anymore....

And all those billions for the forclosed homes??? The numbers don't add up.

Last week He just spent triple what we've spent in the last eight years and now he's going to cut the budget in half???
Just like Rush said..... he just says what the people want to hear and then he does what he wants....

We are so screwed.....
