Dang, woolley, that sounds like a heck of a deal.
I am going over to my local shop tomorrow to buy a "kit" that has a tool head, powder drop, and stand. It, by itself cost right at $100.

I spent the whole day out in my "reloading building" just enjoying the hobby. Lubed about 300 .45 bullets, loaded .223, .44 magnum, and used my blue press to load up 9mm. I tell you woolley, you will love that thing when you get it set up and going.

![]() ![]() I'm certain that i'm going to love the press, I really liked the SDB, but dies were hard to get and no ability to do rifle cartridges was a downer. I probably wont do much rifle on the 550 anyways. I like the manual indexing aspect of the 550 and the toolhead quick changes. Much easier than the SDB.

I only load pistol cartridges on the Dillon, I still use a LEE single stage press for all rifles. I bought a conversion kit for .223 but just could not get the powder to be consistent so I went back to the single stage on them. I have three or four hundred pieces of .223 brass so I might try them again, but still thinking on it.

Pics finally !!! Still have to mount the presses, but I just refinished the top of my bench to beef it up a little.

The green one is my single stage RockChucker. I use it for rifle cartridges and heavier decapping jobs. it's also a mighty beefy club just in case I run out of ammo!

Dang worm. you wadnt kiddn. That one measure aint ever had powder run thru it! Most of that stuff looks lightly used at best. The graphite stains on the measures that were used are light...

Woolley, what is the blue "box" on the left that has the case trimmer on it? That is one heck of a set up you got there. I have just about the same amount of money in mine and don't have near the stuff you got.
I bought that quick change kit that I mentioned earlier and set it up for .223 and I am still having a problem with getting the powder regulated. I am trying to get 24.6 grains of powder out of it and it will go from 23.3 to 30.8. What the heck is going on!!! ![]()

Added some rubber for the feet and it's solid, yet portable.I would check the powder bar and return spring, then check the linkages and verify they're moving the same way each time. I would try a different measure and see what it does. If it throws with the same inconsistency, then maybe you've got something hanging up within the powder die. Either way, I'd call Dillon about this one. Are you on Dillon's forum? They've got a good database of solutions to search there. I've found answers on the SDB there and interesting to see what other people have experience. I still have a huge mess "behind the scenes" and not included in the photo. I've got a milk crate full of spare parts, primer tubes, charge bars that I need to organize and find a home for. I'm going to have to build a shelf/cabinet unit. I think I've got a reloading room in my near future though; we're having some AC work done and we're going to move the upstairs unit which will free up the hall closet. The hall closet is a small room, just right for reloading, about 9'x8'. I'll get to set it up properly and have things organized the way I'd like to.
