Default .38 ctge s7w

I have a .38 S&W CTGE nickel plated, pearl handles break down pistol..serial number is 394765, would like to know year and value..gun is in nice shape

You've got a 38DA, 4th Model, which was made between 1895 and 1909. Since the 4th model numbers ran from 322701 to 539000, I would guess 1896, maybe 97.

"Nice shape" doesn't really mean anything - too vague, and means different things to different people. Value can run between about 75 bucks up to around 500, depending on several factors. Most of 'em are about in the 150 dollar range.
