Default debt ceiling

A complicated situation can be explained in such simple terms!

THE DEBT CEILING

* Democrats don't understand THE DEBT CEILING

* Republicans don't understand THE DEBT CEILING

* Liberals don't understand THE DEBT CEILING

* NO ONE understands THE DEBT CEILING

* SO - Allow me to explain...

Let's say you come home from work and find there has
been a sewer backup in your neighborhood. Your home has sewage all the way
up to your ceilings.

What do you think you should do? Raise the ceilings or pump out the ****?
Your choice is coming in November. Don't miss the opportunity.

A simple anology! I like it!

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Ho-hum! Just another coffin-nail, scratch, scratch. Turn the TV up Martha, and bring me another beer.

The best analogy for the budget is this:

Somebody is 100 pounds overweight. They got that way from consistently eating too much. Here are two options, pick one:

1) Reduce daily food intake about 30% to cause the weight to come to correct value in about six months.

2) Cut off all food until weight is correct.

Notice that a side effect of #2 is THE PERSON DIES.

The republicans and other idiots just say CUT ALL SPENDING SO THAT THE BUDGET IS IMMEDIATELY BALANCED. In reality, cutting that much that fast would plunge the economy and most of the world into another bottomless pit of recession.

We need to reduce spending but do it responsibly. Over time we can reverse the rising debt celing and get the debt to go down.

I love that analogy, very good.

Drastically reducing the debt would hurt in the short run but would help in the long run.

Continuing the liberal spending will drive us off a cliff.

My vote is for drastic cuts.
