Cell phones are the old stuff.....get a Blackberry or an I-Phone with unlimited data and talk time.
T-Mobile is the cheapest...but also has the worst coverage.

Oh, your urge is from that posting yesterday by the Phone Droid. He was practically givin' 'em away, IF you order five or six of 'em! It was all I could do to refrain from ordering a batch, just for me and the dogs, so's we could keep in touch!

![]() ![]() I have a Sony Ericsson (the better built one, my first one, the W350, was a piece of s***). So far, it's working very well. Of course, I have the Go Phone plan and bought my Ericsson off of eBay, new, but with no warranty. |

Can you call out and receive calls? Then what do you need a new one for?

okay. I'll bite. i did the deed with a Blackberry Pearl a couple three years ago, you know when they first were introduced.
Darn thing works well, good reception, internet workings, and has a camera that's better than many on the market today. Works for me, anyway! Old phone had a 'short in it'. Too many rainstorms on the trail, I guess. (okay, there was that unfortunate commode incident!)

No one ever calls my cell phone now, but I am glad I have it. It's a tool like many other things.

If you want coverage, go with Verizon. I have AT&T because my mom works for em so I get a discount. There coverage isn't very good, but where you do get coverage, the quality is alot better than the competition. Plus they actually use their 3G, so you can talk, go on the internet, do multiple things while on a call with someone. None of the other ones can do that. I get by fine with AT&T. They give my mom a new cell phone almost every year. I have like 4 different ones, switch out the little card in them every once in awhile if I get sick of one of em. I'm spoiled. Lol. I also carry my phone on me at work, so I like to use my older ones. I currently have a Samsung Sync. It's a slider. Have an old Motorola V220, that's probably my oldest and most reliable phone. I have a Razr. Dropped it in a puddle at work once and it still works fairly well. Got some other Samsung. And the Sync. I don't really want an iPhone. They're nice, but I'm afraid I'd break it. The plans aren't very cheap either.

I, am so sorry! I, was making a sarcastic remark due to the 2nd phone sale thread that was placed on the Politically Incorrect Forum. I just couldn't bring myself to post this there. Whoops!! I, have no intention of buying a new phone.

Don't get a Juke. It's small and has an MP3 player, and opens sideways like a switchblade. Tiny screen and tinier keys. I have average size hands and fingers, that thing is just too small. I'm anxious for the next upgrade, I've specified a phone that is the most durable our provider offers.

I got a call yesterday. They were looking for Bill, told them I'd send them mine. Guess then they realize they had the wrong number.

I went almost 60 years without needing a cell phone and now I can't do without it. What happened?

I suppose becoming an Old Coot changes your prospective more than you realize. My wife finally got me one for 'emergencies'. I never knew that when we needed a gallon of milk it was considered to be an emergency.
My wife really needed a new phone, so I drove her to a T-Mobile store for an upgrade. Talk about being out of your element. These people speak a foreign language, and I don't seem to be able to understand more than a few words. I observed a your salesgirl (not PC) trying to explain the features and service plans for a phone to an older gentlemen. She kept telling him about all the 'applications' it had, and he kept asking what an application was. After this happened more than six times, I butted in. I told him to consider an application the same as a program on his computer. He got it. All I want to do is occasionally get a call. If it is important, I will make one. I don't care to take pictures as I have a camera at home for that. It looks to me like some people can't lay their device down. I am amazed how many people carry theirs in their hand. Hell, they even sell cell phone holders in convenience stores, but many people still do not have one. For my .02, they are becoming pacifiers, and people cry if they can't touch one all the time. Getting old is not for sissies. |

My bro-in-law is a technogeek that works with computers for the FBI. He told me that the phone to wait for right now is the "GEO" phone. It'll have coverage as good as Verizon & the fancy stuff of the i-phone that's only on At&T now. Also something about a new phone that's so rugged they ship it to you in a sleeve full of water. The GEO is supposed to be out in March.

I like those with the voice dialing feature for use while driving, where I can push the button on my bluetooth, speak the name and the call goes through.

I just got a new phone today.A blackberry 8330.We went with sprint to get unlimited data to the phone, then we got a program that tethers the phone to the computer for basically free unlimited internet. We used to have a verizon aircard but we kept getting bad signals and the aircard capps the data off at 5gigs(I keep going over-too much forum time)and at 5 cents a megabite overage,we had to make a change, now I can spend all day at TFF and not worry about going over.

Went from Blackberry Curve to Palm Pre. Curve kept locking up on me, something with the OS. Pre is pretty good, Only thing I dont like is I cant change the "systm" ringers (text etc). But the new update will fix that.
